Lit Circles Take 2!
I am about to embark on literature circles with my new reading class and I am very excited. They have been very impressive so far this year and have already tried their hand at writing HOT questions. I think that we will be up and running in no time. While we wait, I'd love to hear what you're all reading and if the books are any good. I'm looking to make some changes this year too, both with what we read and how we keep track of our progress. So if you have any suggestions or comments about what you liked or didn't like last year, feel free to weigh in and wish me luck! It will be a great adventure!!!!

i hope this year's 5th greade LL class is as awesome as we were...just kidding. Anyways newmiss I miss the old days. 5th grade was fun though some part I would never repeat. I miss your class but Ms. Olmstead is pretty awesome though she likes to pick on me a lot since she knows I hang out with Nancy and she's in her homeroom. Miss you know how you passed by our hallway and you said it stinked? Yeah, well I think something died in Ms. Therrien's class which is now my homeroom. I am sooo glad I only have Science there. Tell the new 5th grade to behave in SFA and to have respect for you because you're a really awesome teacher! xoxo-Maria
ReplyDeletewow!!!! maria we are the best and we will always be!! hahaha sorry 5th grade but the truth hurts!!well 6th grade is fun. in miss.Therrriens room something smells it was always miss omstaed class that was the last class but we found out that when it rains something weried happens and it smells!! miss are you going to make a new website for your class or are you going to use this one???

Have you read any great books recently? I heard the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid came out and am interested in getting a copy. I will keep this blog, but allow others to access it now. We just started today with discussion director and I'm not sure if you remember, but getting going can be a long, slow process. I will tell you that their book shares this year are out of this world-one student already did a powerpoint. It was very impressive. We've had a few book reviews, a poster, and a great diorama too. I can't wait to hear all about your latest book. Post a HOT question if you can.
ReplyDeleteWell my class is still reading HOOT though we need like 2 chapters to finish. On the meanwhile we've been doing debates and Selena is getting though. She shouts alot and if someboy insults her Ms. Olmstead does nothing about it because Selena defends herself, it's crazy
ReplyDeletehey new miss!!! did you like the little surprise i left on your desk??? well we did it for fun friday mrs.Therrien bought like 70 pumpinkns it was so cool at frist but at the end it was not becaous only Daysha, tiffany and me helped!! but there were other girls how helped {slackers}!! i finally finished the math mcas it was sort of hard but it was kind of easy!! oh miss i am reading "Ida B" for a home readind book!! it is so interating. have you read it???
ReplyDeletehi new miss, do you know why i was so tired is because i was yelling my guts out it was so exciting because everybody was screaming their lungs out!! especially Damien and me!! it was boys against girls well as usally the boys supposly were going to win!! the girls were taking the lead at frist but when the frist bell rang it was over but the game was not finised yet but the whiny boys were saying they won{it is not true because we did not get our lastturn to hit so the game is not over}!!!! but after all it was really fun!!
ReplyDeleteOhh well then Genesis. I stayed inside with Thu and Nancy. At first we were going to play "Life" but then we started playing "Trouble". It was fun but nobody won because then the bell rang. Afterschool Nancy Thu and I went to my house and Thu ate about 5 pieces of chicken while Nancy ate 2 and I ate a yogurt. It was funny, she always eats alot in my house. Last time she came she ate 3 sandwiches. After we finished eating I made my face look like a skeleton and Nancy wore a dress of Spider Queen I think for a Halloween Party at the YWCA. It was fun and Nancy won best creepy costume. I just took pictures of her. It was fun.
ReplyDeletehey new miss!! so have you read the book IdaB it is realy good it is about a girl that they do t realy like her at school so her parents decide to hometache her!! they own a farm but IdaBs mom has cancer so alot of hting chaned she was sent back to school. before all that happened the doctors came to give treatments to her mom first she had canecer in a place then she had it under her arm!! i think Ida B made a promise with her mom that they would never sell the barn but one day her dad could not pay yhe bills so they had to sell the barn!!! Ida B cried so one day her mom came in her room and Ida B wanted to cry but her heart was like a rock very hard!!!
